An Inuit hand-stitched seal skin and carved ivory pictorial wall hanging, mid 20th century, depicting twelve native hunters, each with carved ivory faces in pieced and stitched sealskin, 44 inches by 36 inches.
Inuit Woven Wall Hanging “Polar Bear Attack” Made by Agness Iqqugaqtuq (1930-2006) – Pelly Bay 20″x 23″ Good Condition.
I came across these images quite by accident online the other day. The items are listed for auction on the Live Auctioneers website.
I’ve not been able to locate any other information about these items other than that which is listed in the captions above. Both Inuit wall hangings are fascinating examples of outsider art from the North American Arctic regions though.
