I’ve recently started exploring how to make quilts as a part of a new body of work that I’m creating. This quilt – S.O.S – is the first one that I’ve finished. It’s only a small quilt measuring approximately 18 inches square.
This quilt has been created using a blue fabric patchwork onto which I have appliqued the lettering using a blanket stitch.
I’ve been investigating various methods for constructing quilts as it has become apparent that there are lots of technical issues to consider to ensure that the final item is finished nicely and lays flat. I’m hoping to scale up from this first attempt as I hone my quilt making skills.
