What with having created my first quilt – which was quite a small and simple affair – I’ve now set about working on some more involved quilted works.
Part of the process has involved appliqueing lettering on to the fabric to form the slogans that will run across these banners.
I experimented with a few alternative means of fixing the letters to the fabric including satin stitches, whipped backs-titches, and running stitches amongst others. I’ve settled on a simple blanket stitch (pictured) to hold the letters in place for the time being as this seems to be the most efficient solution.
